A friend wanted a painting done of her friends cat for a 50th birthday present, so I did my best to capture the cat from photo's, I never find that easy.
I tried scanning the painting in before I'd actually finished it, then forgot to scan the finished painting in before handing it over ! But, anyway,it was nearly finshed ! My scanner seems to have problems with greens and makes them browns !

So glad you are painting, they are lovely. I find my scanner finds yellows differcult.
I have been trying to push myself a little with my recent painting and someone is writing some words for a book, but I don't think my charactes are developed enough. I keep asking myself how much to make the animals human, I don't really want to do the whole animal clothes thing, but I love teacups.
The horse in the photo I think must be a polo pony they are left in the field half way up the down with a stalion to foal. Its lovely to see them free and living in a group. If you look really careful you can see the horses bad eye, normall she only likes looking at you with her good side. Happy pony hunting, I would love a pony.
Ellie, your paintings are a feast for the eyes; so lovely!- The first one reminds me of the watercolours of Carl Larsson, especially the ones in his book" At solsidan". But there is always your fine, unique style in them. The other two paintings are super well done, too! -Please, do more of them. You are so talented!
...And thank you for having visited my blog.
Have a wonderful week!
gorgeous Ellie! I love those!
I found your blog through Claudia's blog. It has been lovely reading all about your farm shop and crafts and paintings. I am always sewing and making things and sometimes go to craft fairs, as well as drawing. Also I saw you mention the Lake District, where I live.
Wanted to say how I enjoyed your blog. Eileen
Thankyou so much for your kind comments Eileen. I looked at your BEAUTIFUL work on your blog and website. I love the Lake District, especially your bit ie Ruskins house overlooking lovely Lake Coniston ! Best Wishes !
It was lovely to hear from you too Eleaner. I have spent my whole life making things, knitting, sewing, patchwork , painting pegs, purses, hearts, bags, just can't stop myself. My artcards the lastest venture. I saw a lot of me in you, loved your beautiful barn shop, wish I lived near to visit.
Yesterday I was sewing a large heart in vintage fabric. I have lots of bags that I have made, use one all the time and give them to friends as presents. I have a huge stash of fabrics. Also making a 3D patchwork star, 60 triangles, going to take ages but love the challenge.
So you have been to Coniston and to Brantwood. It is a stunning place, I live 30 minutes away, we can see Coniston old man from my house. Where you live looks beautiful, you have some lovely photographs on your blog giving us a taste of Sweden.
Bye for now Eileen
